Can people tell when someone has low self-esteem?
I don’t think you can do it with 100% accuracy but most often than not it is possible to see the hints that refer to low self-esteem. Signs of low self-esteem: person avoids eye-contact the person speaks quietly or without conviction in his/her voice closed off body language - low self-esteem people don’t usually bring their chest forward. self-deprecating jokes - however, it is not always a symptom of low self-esteem - high self-esteem people also make jokes about themselves - the giveaway of a low self-esteem person is that they make the jokes too often.. they don’t really laugh while making the jokes.. and/or they joke about the same thing over and over (about their insecurity). a person doesn’t like to make suggestions/speak up even when his/her well being is at stake. being out of shape can indicate low self-esteem (not always). trying to please others can be an indication of low self-esteem. girls/guys who take excessive care of their appearance can be with low self-e...
