Centrifugal clutch

Centrifugal clutch Intro Centrifugal clutch is mainly used in automatic gear system .compare to other clutch types its costly   but it has more advantages then other system. Working The centrifugal clutch automatically disengages itself when the speed falls below and engages when the speed rises above a pre-set value. centrifugal bob-weight are positioned in such a way that the centrifugal forces exerted by them with the clutch rotation result in the release levers due to the outer end of the release lever moving towards the flywheel . This results in the proportionate increase of centrifugally generated pressure with the increase of engine speed. Therefore at low engine speeds only the spring pressure acts, while at high engine speeds the force generated by the weights supplements the spring pressure. Thus smooth and acceptable gear changes...

Types of clutches

Types of clutches In my previous post I discussed about the clutch mechanism and what is clutch so here I don’t want to waste your time, so here I’m going to tell about types of clutches briefly clutches are basically classified according to their construction and performance different types of clutches are 1.        Multiple plate clutch 2.        Single plate clutch 3.        Wet vs. dry 4.        Centrifugal 5.        Cone clutch These are the major types of clutches 1.    multiple plate clutch Multiplate   are mainly used in large trucks and racing cars if torque transmission is necessary but the diameter is limited these are also used in automatic transmission and motor cycles in this type of clutches a number   of parallel discs of metal and friction material are arranged to transmit the driv...

CLUTCH

CLUTCH Clutch is a mechanical device it’s one the major part in transmission power system .it provides for the transmission of power from one component to another component, its placed in between the flywheel and gear box .Next to the flywheel and before to the gear box transmit power during engage condition main purpose of the clutch is control the amount of motion whenever it needs, Mechanism of clutch It’s the simplest mechanism connect and disconnect two rotating shafts (drive shafts or line shaft). One shaft attached to motor or engine which provides power its input shaft (driving member)and the other shaft gear box etc.(the driven member)provides output power of work. Clutch is an unit it contains main parts inside into it Material used for clutch As i already said clutch is a unit it contains many parts each parts are made with different materials .The outer case of the clutch is made up of cast iron, please wait for my next post so you can get to know more about clutc...

CRANKCASE

http://en.wikipedia.org CRANKCASE         The main body of the engine to which the cylinder are attached and which contains the crankshaft and crankshaft bearings is called crankcase. This members also holds other parts in alignment and resists the explosion and intertia forces. It also protects the parts from dirt etc. In the crankcase only the engine oil are stored in self lubricate syst em the crankcase play an important role the scoop used for splashing to the engive wall are taking oil from the crankcase only so I play a majore role in lubrication system      Crankcase forming an engine block ,crankcase  are the basic engine structural component   crankcase often has an opening in the bottom to which an oil pan is attached a gasketed bolted joint. Material used for crankcase  Material which is used for making crankcase are engine block mostly cast aluminium crankcase are made via sand casting ...

CRANKSHAFT

CRANKSHAFT In my all post I’m telling that this the major part you definitely get bored of this now also I’m going to say the same line crankshaft another major part in the engine but in this post bit I’m going to some technical words so you can understand better the mechanism and parts description .Crankshaft part which converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into rotary motion .This motion of the piston is transmitted to the crank by the connecting rod. The crank shaft subjected to the torsional and bending stresses and is supported on the crankcase structure on large bearing .These crankshaft bearings are known as main bearings. The number of bearings varies depending on the dynamic load on it. For example a four-cylinder engine crank case may have two, three or five bearings. Parts in crankshaft Crankshaft contains many parts they are   crankpins, crank arms, crank journals, and driving ends the crankshaft attached to the fly wheel to reduce the pulsation char...

Connecting Rod

Connecting Rod Connecting rod in name itself you can understand it connect something that something is nothing but it connects the piston and the crankshaft and also its called as Conrod .Main purpose of the connecting rod was converting the reciprocating motion into rotary motion getting reciprocating motion from the piston and giving rotary motion to the crankshaft .Its is rigid ,it may transmit either push and pull i.e. pushing and pulling done on the piston Construction Major parts in the connecting rod is big eye end and small eye end, small end attaches to the the piston pin or gudgeon pin, the big end connected with the crankshaft ,the between the big end and crankshaft the bearings are placed Material used Connecting rod is the back bone for the engine if it breaks engine doesn’t work it stops suddenly   so connecting rod has to be rigid for that reason the material has to be chosen mostly connecting rod made by steel only but now a days its made by T6-2024 and ...

ENGINE

ENGINE An engine it’s a device which used to convert energy into mechanical motion ,first engine invented on 1712 it a steam engine power of steam used to produce mechanical work its named as newcomen steam engine which used to pump water from the mines ,for this reason only engine was invented in 18 Th century after asper the requirement engine evolved for different requirements   different types of engines are originated. ENGINE CLASSIFICATION Engines are classified according to different aspects 1.        According to types of combustion 2.        Types of stroke 3.        Types of fuel 4.        Types of piston arrangement According to types of combustion There are two types of combustion system 1.        Internal combustion (IC) Engine 2.        External combustion Engine I...
