Types of plastics Bio-based plastics: These polymers are synthesized by living organisms, essentially in the form in which they are finally used. Examples of naturally produced bio-based polymers include; • cellulose / starch • proteins • bacterial polyhydroxyalkanoates after extraction and purification, direct industrial exploitation is possible. Mainly Used in automotive interior and exterior, consumer electronics and furniture. Biodegradable plastics: Biodegradable plastics are plastics that are capable of being decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms. Plastic Definition. Material that can be reshaped or reformed with the influence of Heat and Pressure. Material deforms from its original shape and not able to regain its original shape without any external force those materials are called Plastics. Material which is all having plasticity in nature those materials is called plastic. Plasticity Plasticity is the propensity of a material to undergo permanent deformation under load when compressed.
